Sjoerd Bosga
About me
Sjoerd G. Bosga received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1993 and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1997, both from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. Since September 1997 he works at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås, Sweden, where he is currently a Principal Scientist. From May 2017 he is an Affiliated Faculty Member at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), school of Electrical Engineering, department of Electric Power and Energy Systems.
His research interests include converter, machine and system topologies for electric drive trains, as well as (position sensorless, i.e. self-sensing) control algorithms. His application interests range from electric vehicles (cars, traction vehicles, marine) through servo applications (robotics, advanced actuators), to other industrial applications.
Sjoerd Bosga is a member and chair of the International Scientific Committee (ISC) of the European Power Electronics and Drives Association (EPE), for which he is also member of the Executive Council.
