About me

Jacob is a researcher at RISE. He defended his PhD thesis at KTH on September 16th 2022. His research project is on transparency in algorithmic decision making. The thesis is called "Transparent but Incomprehensible: Investigation the relation between transparency, explanations and usability in automated decision-making".

He has a background in Political Science and has previously worked at the think tank Fores with Digital Society issues. At RISE, Jacob has worked with issues regarding the social impact of digitalization in both practical and policy applications, with a focus on issues regarding privacy, as well as dealing with how technology can be used in more ethical ways by the private and public sectors.
