Javier Albert Smet

Javier was born in Madrid in 1997. He graduated with honors from his bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2019. During his undergraduate years, he collaborated in data science research at his home university as well as in the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and the University of New South Wales in Sydney. For his final year project, he developed a machine learning technique that outperforms most common initialization techniques used in clustering. Alongside his excellent academic career, he has shown a deep interest in education. He works and volunteers in summer camps and in centers for children in risk of social exclusion. He pursues the MSc. in Systems, Control and Robotics and speaks English, Spanish, French and some Swedish.
