About me

Guest Professor

I received my Ph.D. (1994) from the Department of Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Uppsala University. I have been Senior/Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca R&D (Sodertalje, Sweden) (1995-2012), Adjunct Prof. at Karlstad University (2003-2010), professor at Stockholm University (2011-2017) and Guest Prof. at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden) (2017 - ). My research is focusing on sample preparation for the analysis of drugs in biological fluids. I introduced powerful new tools in sample preparation such as Microextraction by Packed Sorbent (MEPS), Monolithic Packed Tips, and MIP-Tablets.

I have more than 40-year experience (R&D) in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry, having strong background and theoretical knowledge of separation science and state of the art instrumentation related to chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry techniques.

The main focus of my research is inventing of highly automated and integrated sample preparation techniques for the isolation of drugs and metabolites from complex matrices. Screening and determination of drugs, metabolites and biomarkers in biological samples. I have published over 250 publications (scientific papers, proceedings, patent, etc.).
