From 2011 to 2014, he was with SAR SA, Bogota, as an embedded software engineer for mass transportation applications. Dr. Puerta completed his Ph.D. studies in photonics engineering in 2017 at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark. During his Ph.D. he was a guest researcher at the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland during 2015 working in 100G datacenter links, and at the ZTE research center in New Jersey, USA, during July 2016 working in high-capacity fiber-wireless links. As well, he was a research intern at Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. 2017. His research interests are within the areas of digital control, digital signal processing for high-speed fiber-optic and fiber-wireless links, advance modulation schemes, and MIMO algorithms for multi-antenna systems. Currently, Dr. Puerta is a Reseracher at KTH/RISE Kista High Speed Transmission Lab (HST-Lab) and works at Ericsson as a Master Researcher. He has authored or coauthored over 10 patents that have been filed, more than 50 publications in international journals and conferences, and has performed over 100 peer reviews for high-impact journals.
