PREVIOUS PRACTICE-BASED PROJECTS

Rosa has been self-employed since 2012 in the Netherlands and Sweden. The work consists mainly of practice-based projects in collaboration with a range of partners in the areas of community planning, local governance and public space.

Rosa has been involved in the following projects:

- project coordinator for action-based research project The City at Eye Level for Kids in collaboration with STIPO and funded by the Bernard van Leer Foundation as part of the Urban95 challenge. The result is a book with 70+ case studies. Online available

- project coordinator for a entrepreneurship and empowerment program for (predominantly Moroccan) youth in Amsterdam East, supported by the local municipality and housing corporation Ymere (2012)

-  project assistant for an Amsterdam-based participatory governance network Lokale Lente aimed at empowering the urban bottom-up practices and bridging the gap with partners such as politicians, local public officials, national government, housing corporations and financial funds and granting institutions. Initiated by Schleijpen & Leatemia (2011-2012)

- initiator of a project called Suburban Creativity that aims to empower marginalized women living in Stockholm's suburbs through combining capacity and network building, entrepreneurship, handicraft and other forms of creativity (2015)

- initiator and project coordinator for an exchange program between Stockholm and Istanbul "City of All: Using Creative Potential of Big Cities as a tool for Overcoming Gender Disparity" addressing women empowerment for migrants through handicraft practices and capacity building programs, funded by the Swedish Institute in Istanbul, Turkey (2015)

- a co-founder of a local discount card aimed to support small local businesses and strengthen local identity in a midsize town Hoorn in The Netherlands (2008)

- organizer of multiple travel and exchange programs for professionals in the field of urban planning, traffic planning, urban design and architecture between Stockholm, Amsterdam and Rotterdam (2012 - ongoing)

- co-founder of STIPO Stockholm, branch of STIPO. STIPO is a multi-disciplinary office for urban strategy, placemaking and city development (2015 - 2017)
