Syed Mahmud-ul-Islam

After graduation from KTH, Sweden, Syed began working for Rajshahi City Corporation (Bangladesh) in 2019 as Environmental Development Officer. At present, he is continuing his job as head of the department since his joining. 

Syed holds double M.Sc. degrees from Sweden. He received his first M.Sc. degree in The Built Environment within 'Water System Technology' program and second M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering within 'Sustainable Technology'  program from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. He obtained his B.Sc. in Geology and Mining from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. Syed has also done several post-graduate courses under the master's program of 'Geological Science' at Stockholm University. Having several courses from different programs provide him with multi-background experiences as well as enriches his knowledge.

During his studies he focused on: hydro(geo)logy, water management, waste and water treatment, river basin management, IWRM, geology, mining, climate change, environmental management, sustainable development, and ecology. Thus he becomes a multi background professionalist and keeps sufficient knowledge in the sector of Geology, Mining, Water, Environment, and Sustainable Technology. He looks forward to launching his career with a new taste and experience.
