Dr. Sumit Majumder (born 1989) obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from Burdwan University, India in 2009. Later He obtained his M.Sc. in Physics from Chhattisgarh Central University in 2011 and M.Tech in advanced materials science and Technology from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India in 2013. He has been awarded a “CSIR Fellowship" with rank 79 from the Government of India for the academic years 2014–2019. He has completed his PhD from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (Surface Physics Dept.) and Jadavpur University (Physics Dept), Kolkata, India. He was a visiting scientist at the experimental condensed matter physics division, Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, India. He was a visiting fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati, India. Then he moved to Israel for his postdoctoral research (PBC Postdoc fellow) at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. After that, He researched at Empa Swiss Federal Lab for Materials Science and Technology/ETH Zurich as an ESKAS Postdoc Fellow (2021-2022) and then at the National University of Singapore (2022-2023). He is now a Ragnar Holm Postdoc fellow at KTH Stockholm, Sweden. He won CSIR-JRF (India), PBC Postdoctoral Fellowship (Israel), and Swiss Govt. Excellence Scholarship (Switzerland), Ragnar Holm Fellowship (Sweden) during his career. His research interests mainly focus on nanomagnetism, electrochemical energy storage & conversion, and magneto-electrochemistry.
