Xiaodan Pang

About me

Xiaodan Pang was a Docent working at the Photonics Division, Department of Applied Physics at KTH until 2024-12-31. He is a group member of the KTH/RISE Kista High Speed Transmission Lab, a Guest Senior Researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, and a Guest Professor at Riga Technical University, Latvia. He received PhD from DTU Fotonik (now DTU Electro), Technical University of Denmark in 2013, and worked as a Post Doc at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (formerly ACREO) until 2017. He wored as a Researcher with the ONLAB at KTH EECS School, during 2017-2018, before moving to Infinera Global HW R&D team working as a Staff Opto Engineer. He returned to academia in 2020 upon receiving the VR Starting grant, and joined the Applied Physics Department at KTH. From Jan. 2025, he started working as a Qiushi Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University, China.

His research focuses on high-speed optical communications in fiber-optic, free-space and photonic-wireless systems.
