EU Green Capital Seminar II: Urban Ecosystem Services
WELCOME TO A SEMINAR AT KTH!
Arranged by the Department of Land and Water Resources Engineering, Royal Institute of Technology
When sustainable urban development is discussed, ecosystem services need to be taken into account. Important ecosystem services are provisioning services, such as materials and clean water, regulating services such as climate regulation and flood control, and supporting services such as soil formation, nutrient and water cycling and provision of habitat and recreation areas. For a sustainable urban development it will be necessary to integrate ecosystem services in urban planning.
The seminar will be held in the afternoon the 13th of October and is organized by the Department of Land and Water Resources Engineering at KTH. The target group for the seminar is researchers and professionals but it is open for all interested. The seminar will be a side event to the EU Green Capital Conference on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, October 14-15, 2010 and will therefore be held in English.
Time: October 13th, 2010, 13:15-16:00
Place: KTH Campus
