Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course is a continuation to Urban and traffic planning basic course that is about planning at strategic level. Urban and traffic planning continuation is about planning at a more detailed level. There are lectures and literature about planning methods and tools. The students are trained in analysing and discussing town planning problems as well as practising planning at the detail planning level.

Intended learning outcomes

The aim is to:

  • give knowledge at a detail planning level about the buildings and functions of a city with special emphasis on the relation between buildings and the technical infrastructure
  • give insights into methods and tools used in planning and give the students exercise in applying the methods in projects.
  • Train the students in visual and oral presentation of plans.

  • ÖVN4 - Descriptive Plan, 2.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

Other requirements for final grade

To pass the course you need an approved exam (TEN2; 3,0 cr) and approved exercises (ÖVN2; 1,5 cr), (ÖVN3; 1,0 cr), (ÖVN4; 2,0 cr).
