Course contents
- Overview of applications of Industrial Ecology in problems and challenges that the contemporary society is faced with;
- Overview of research questions and methods within Industrial Ecology, beyond the own research field.
- Communication of Industrial Ecology.
- Project supervision and leading work in Industrial Ecology.
Intended learning outcomes
This course is primarily offered to PhD students within Industrial Ecology and aims at providing a broad, rather than in-depth, overview of different applications of Industrial Ecology in problems and challenges that the society is faced with and research. It also aims at enhance skills in communicating within Industrial Ecology and to lead work within the field. After finishing the course, the PhD students should be able to
- Describe and discuss different applications of Industrial Ecology to contemporary challenges of the society;
- Describe and critically discuss the application of Industrial Ecology methods;
- Communicate Industrial Ecology theory in problems and applications to peers and stakeholders;
- Supervise/ lead work in Industrial Ecology.

Qualified for doctoral studies.
(Basic knowledge of Sustainable Development and/or Industrial Ecology and/or Energy/Environmental Engineering is recommended.)

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

- RED1 - Reporting, 3.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
