This course is suitable for smaller research oriented projects with computer systems. Participating students are expected to contribute with their own project proposals.

The course is suitable for students who want to follow up their project plan from the course IS2206 or who have their own ideas. It can also be used for pre-studies towards the master degree project or for the extra work needed to publish the results from a degree project.

Since this is an individual course whose contents varies depending on the students project ideas and previous knowledge, the individual learning outcomes will vary for each student.

The general learning outcomes is that the student after the course should be able to:

  • Make a detailed plan of a smaller research project from a coarse plan
  • Critically value experimental results from known knowledge and the goals of the project
  • Document the project’s goals, approach and results
  • Plan for relevant publication of the project

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
