Pristagare

Pristagare av the Dahlquist Postdoctoral Fellowship

2021-2023 Qing Xia

Qing Xia has been awarded the Dahlquist Research Fellowship for his important contribution to the field of high order numerical methods for partial differential equations in domains with irregular geometry. His work includes the use of fast Poisson solvers on Cartesian grids for applications in biology and material science. In particular he considers the difficult problem with dynamic boundary conditions and irregular internal interfaces. The methods are applied to various applications, showing accurate results obtained with high efficiency.

2019-2020 Witese Boon

Wietse Boon has been awarded the Dahlquist research fellowship for his important contributions to numerical methods for mixed-dimensional partial differential equations with applications in fluid dynamics and solid mechanics, in particular flow in fractured porous media. A central part of his work is the development of mixed finite element methods on hierarchical domains. He is using deep and thorough analysis guaranteeing stability and accuracy, which is also verified by computational implementations.

2017-2019 Chiara Sorgentone

Chiara Sorgentone has been awarded the Dahlquist Research fellowship for her important contribution to the field of numerical simulations of problems in fluid dynamics. Her work includes development of novel numerical algorithms, theoretical analysis of these algorithms and convincing numerical test applications. She has in particular major original results in numerical techniques that preserve certain important properties exactly.

2015-2017 Antti Koskela

Antti Koskelais the fifth recipient of the award. He was appointed by the board with the following motivation:
"Antti Koskela has been awarded the Dahlquist Research Fellowship for his important contributions to the field of numerical methods for systems of ordinary differential equations and linear algebra. He has in particular worked at the intersection of these fields in developing and analyzing original and efficient algorithms of exponential integrator type. He has also worked on applications ranging from the molecular world to astrophysics.”

2013-2015 Erik Lehto

Erik Lehto är den fjärde mottagaren av "the Dahlquist Postdoctoral Fellowship". Han utnämndes av styrelsen med följande motivering:

"Erik Lehto has been awarded the Dahlquist Research Fellowship for his important contributions to the field of numerical methods for partial differential equations. He has used radial basis functions to develop new methods which allow for nonstructured node distribution, leading to accurate and cost-effective algorithms. His work is characterized by a truly novel and original approach, and has potential for a large variety of applications in science and engineering

2011-2012 Elias Jarlebring

Elias Jarlebring är den tredje mottagaren av "the Dahlquist Postdoctoral Fellowship". Han utnämndes av styrelsen med följande motivering:
"Elias Jarlebring has been awarded the Dahlquist Research Fellowship for his important contributions to the field of numerical methods for nonlinear eigenvalue problems. This type of problem arises naturally in the analysis and solution of nonlinear partial differential equations and of delay differential equations, which have numerous applications in science and technology. Jarlebring has shown how to construct efficient methods by taking advantage of special inherent structures in these very difficult problems."

2009-2010 Yana Di

Yana Di är den andre mottagaren av "the Dahlquist Research Fellowship". Hon utnämndes utav styrelsen med följande motivering:
"Yana Di has been awarded the Dahlquist Research Fellowship for her important contributions to the field of numerical approximations of partial differential equations, with applications to fluid mechanics. In particular she has developed and analyzed new and highly accurate moving mesh algorithms for the Navier-Stokes equations. She has also developed innovative techniques for the contact line problem of wetting dynamics for immiscible two-phase flows."

2007-2008 Raul Tempone

Raul Tempone är den allra första mottagaren av "the Dahlquist Postdoctoral Fellowship". Han utnämndes utav styrelsen med följande motivering:
"Raul Tempone has been awarded the first Dahlquist Research Fellowship for his important contributions to the field of numerical approximation of deterministic and stochastic differential equations. In particular his innovative results on a posteriori error estimates and adaptive techniques for stochastic differential equations are leading the international development. This is a relatively new field with an increasing number of applications in, for example, biology, geophysics and finance. Tempone's research is mainly analytical but he is also considering various applications."
