Superconductors have two state-defining properties: zero resistance and expulsion of low externally applied magnetic fields.
The behavior of superconductors in elevated fields is more complex leading to classification in several types.
In the presentation, I will give an introduction to magnetic properties of superconductors and also explain new research directions and experimental observations which emerged in the recent years.
