What if you can redesign your city?
What's your utopia?

Welcome to our first chapter of the Sustainable Cities Workshop series - Urban Flood Resilience!

‘Flood’ seems so distant from our everyday life but once it hits our city, we all say “this is such a disaster!” Let’s look back in 2011, Thailand faced a severe flooding for over 5 months. More than 20,000 square kilometers of farmland was damaged. The economy was frozen; firms stopped working, tourists canceled the trips, food price skyrocketed, and even the residential areas in Bangkok were flooded. It was a real disaster because the water stayed in the city for so long.

What if flood can be drained very quickly and the city is bounced back to a normal stage instantly.
Flooding would be no longer a big deal, wouldn’t it?

Come and join us to discuss ‘Urban Flood Resilience’ in this workshop. You will get to explore flooding from many perspectives; the relationship between flood-city-people, cause & effect, case studies of innovative solutions, and we will brainstorm together how to make our city resilient for the next coming flood.
