The project will focus on sufficiency measures within food, transportation and clothing. These consumption categories are chosen because they are relevant to the wide general public, have considerable climate impacts (Andersson et al., 2014), and because measuring well-being related to such consumption may be particularly feasible and interesting. For instance, social motivations related to clothing range from physical protection and functionality to identity building and social relatedness. In addition, eating more red meat or driving longer distances does not increase well-being (Andersson et al., 2014) suggesting that sufficiency measures in such consumption categories could be particularly effective in reducing environmental impact while maintaining, or improving, well-being.
