Middla – a makerspace at KTH
Middla is a creative makerspace and lab in the D building at KTH Campus. Students in media technology can come here to build prototypes, use digital fabrication tools or work on projects.
Middla is a creative and feminist makerspace for KTH students. It is mainly used for working on projects or coursework, building prototypes with digital fabrication tools, getting advice from experts, attending applied lectures on e-textiles, prototyping with Arduino or shape-changing materials.
Middla is part of MID Studios, which also include the Media Production studio, Multi-sensory studio, Soft Tech studio, Haptics studio and Flexi studio. The MID Studios expand on modalities and technologies introduced in Middla and are only accessible to students of certain programmes.
Access Middla
Middla is accessible to:
- Master's students and researchers affiliated to the department of Media Technology and Interaction Design (MID) .
- Members of the student organization Speqtrum .
If you are a bachelor's student or feel your work aligns with MID research, especially design on, around or for the body, and are interested in participating in our community, reach out to mid-studios@kth.se .
For 24/7 access to Middla and to use the equipment, you are required to complete the Middla Access Course in Canvas and take a tour of the space. After you have completed this you can request to get access through your KTH access card. Find all information and apply in the course in Canvas.
