Erik Flores

Om mig

Erik is an assistant professor at the Department of Production Engineering in the research area of Production Logistics at KTH. He holds a PhD in Innovation and Design and M. Sc. in Production and Logistics from Mälardalens Högskola, and a B.Sc. in Mechatronics from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM). He is passionate about research in close collaboration with industry, and believes that this unique combination can enable industrial transformation and industrialization in a sustainable society. Erik is a faculty member of Digital Futures and the Centre of Excellence in Production Research (XPRES) at KTH. His research interest includes applying cyber physical systems, digital twins, and simulation-based multi-objective optimization to production logistics. For CV details please visit Erik's LinkedIn.

Winter Simulation Conferene 2020 - It's that time of the year :) Virtual doubler header! Carlos and I discuss the importance of Simulation Optimization for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems. Projects

Dynamic SALSA develops Ai solutions and practical software applications for dynamic scheduling technologies in smart assembly and logistics for the automotive sector. It involves OEMs, SMEs and universities from Sweden (Scania, SiB Solutions and KTH) and the Republic of Korea (Woojin Industrial Systems, Corners Ltd, . Sungkyunkwan University, and Seoul National University). This project combines Ai-based vision systems, digital twins, and industrial internet of things for improving the movement of materials and information in factories. Particularly, we focus on enhancing economic, environmental, and social sustainability for smart logistics and assembly. Funding: Eureka Smart & Vinnova.

EXPLAIN includes a new generation of interactive fusion of virtual production modeling methods and machine learning algorithms for decision-making support in production and logistics systems. EXPLAIN includes the participation of KTH, Uppsala University, Seco Tools, Hitachi ABB, AstraZeneca, and Scania. Funding: Vinnova

C-PALs applies cyber physical systems in assembly and logistic supply chains for the automotive industry. This project includes an international consortium of industrial and academic actors from Sweden (Scania, Ericsson, H&D wireless, and KTH) and South Korea (Yura, Dexta, and Sungkyunkwan University).
