About me

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Division of Robotics, Perception and Learning. I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from KTH in 2023. I hold M.Sc. (2018) and B.Sc. (2015) degrees in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU).

While pursuing my M.Sc. degree, I started doing research at the Kovan Robotics Lab, METU. During my doctoral education, I continued robotics research at the Division of Robotics, Perception and Learning, KTH, and was a visiting scholar at the Robot Autonomy and Interactive Learning Lab, Georgia Institute of Technology.

My research interest includes human-robot interaction, machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and computer vision. My research aims to endow robots with the ability of semantic reasoning and scene understanding for autonomously operating them in human environments. During my Ph.D., I worked on comprehending natural language instructions and clarifying ambiguous user requests. Currently, I focus on continual learning for robots in human environments leveraging explainability to help them with their daily tasks.

If you are interested in writing a master thesis or taking the Research project in Robotics, Perception and Learning course (DD2411) within my project, feel free to contact me under fidogan(at)kth(dot)se.
