About me

Organization researcher and teacher dedicated to understanding organizing as a social practice. Combining organization theory with feminist ethnography, narrative approaches, and action research, I explore how diverse actors organize in response to crises, promote gender equality and diversity, and navigate systemic transitions. My work traces how inequalities are reproduced while also identifying openings for inclusive and sustainable change within fields and communities of practice.

I have researched organization cultures and organizing across media, journalism, film, feminist movements, academia, fintech, and, most recently, the built environment. I have led and contributed to projects supported by FORMAS, FORTE, the Research Council of Norway, Norway Grants, the Polish National Science Centre, Fulbright, ICFJ & UNESCO, the Council of Europe, and the World Bank. I hold a PhD in Cultural Studies (2016) from SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a Postgraduate Diploma in Gender Studies (2009) from the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBL PAN), an MBA from Kozminski University (2007), and an MSc in Oceanography (2004) from the University of Gdańsk, Poland.

Before joining KTH, I held positions at the University of Warsaw, Stockholm University, UC Berkeley, and the University of Oslo. I currently serve as Vice-Chair of the ECREA Gender, Sexuality & Communication section (2021–2025) and was Vice-President (2020–2022) and Board Member (2017–2020) of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT). Since 2020, I have coordinated the Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP) in Poland. I was the Principal Investigator for the Norway Grants-funded research project “Diversity Management as Innovation in Journalism” (2021–2023; managingnewsroomdiversity.com).
