About me

I study organizations and organizing, with a focus on power, inequality, and change across organizational fields. Drawing on organization theory, feminist ethnography, narrative approaches, and action research, I examine how actors organize in response to crises, work toward gender equality and diversity, and navigate systemic transitions. My work traces how inequalities are reproduced while also identifying openings for inclusive and sustainable change within fields and communities of practice.

I am currently part of the FORMAS-funded BRIDGE – Sustainability Leadership project, where I study how sustainability leadership is enacted in practice and how everyday work shapes sustainability in the built environment.

My earlier research examined organizing but also organizational cultures, gender equality, and professional identities across media, journalism, film, fintech, and academia. I have led or contributed to projects funded by FORMAS, FORTE, the Research Council of Norway, Norway Grants, the Polish National Science Centre, Fulbright, UNESCO, and the World Bank. I hold a PhD in Cultural Studies (2016), a Postgraduate Diploma in Gender Studies (2009), an MBA (2007), and an MSc in Oceanography (2004).

I have held positions at the University of Warsaw, Stockholm University, UC Berkeley, and the University of Oslo, before joining KTH. I serve as Vice-Chair of the ECREA Gender, Sexuality & Communication section (2021–2025) and previously as Vice-President (2020-2022) and Board Member (2017-2020) of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT). I am the coordinator and project leader of the Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP) in Poland (editions 2020 and 2025) and was Principal Investigator of the Norway Grants–funded project Diversity Management as Innovation in Journalism (2021–2023).
