Om mig

I am a doctoral student at the Promobilia MoveAbility Lab. My doctoral research is focused on characterization of shoulder biomechanics in wheelchair users and investigation of shoulder pain and overuse injuries. The research aims to shed light on optimal propulsion techniques in which the shoulder experiences minimal loads and subjects spare less effort. The ultimate goal is to develop a shoulder assistive device that could actively support shoulder movements and prevent joint overloading.

In 2016, I earned my BSc in mechanical engineering at Suez Canal University, Egypt. In 2019, I was awarded the Fulbright scholarship by the US Department of State to continue my graduate studies in the US. In 2021, I received my MSc in robotics and autonomous systems at Arizona State University. During my Master's studies I developed a soft robotic exosuit to assist knee flexion in people with lower limb motor disabilities.
