I am a doctoral student at the Promobilia MoveAbility Lab. My doctoral research is focused on characterization of shoulder biomechanics in wheelchair users and investigation of shoulder pain and overuse injuries. The research aims to shed light on optimal propulsion techniques in which the shoulder experiences minimal loads and subjects spare less effort. The ultimate goal is to develop a shoulder assistive device that could actively support shoulder movements and prevent joint overloading.
In 2019, I was awarded the Fulbright scholarship by the US Department of State. In 2021, I received my MSc in robotics and autonomous systems at Arizona State University where I developed a soft robotic exosuit to assist knee flexion in people with lower limb motor disabilities.
