Who am I?

Prof. Tommy Ohlsson

Short personal description: My name is Tommy Ohlsson and I was born on June 13, 1973 in Österhaninge south of Stockholm. I started my university studies in 1992 at the Engineering Physics program at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. In 1996, I became M.Sc. in Engineering at KTH, and in 2000, I graduated as a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics also at KTH. Between 2000 and 2002, I worked as a postdoc at the "Technische Universität München", Munich, Germany. Since 2008, I am a Professor in Theoretical Physics at KTH (Assistant Professor in 2002, Docent in 2003, and Associate Professor in 2005). I enjoy being with my wife, traveling, playing badminton and golf, dancing "bugg", reading history, and staying at my family's summer cottage at the Åland Islands. In 2003, I was awarded the Gustafsson Prize for young researchers at KTH and Uppsala University, and in 2004, I was appointed research fellow at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA).
