Avancerade beräkningsmetoder i flödesmekanik
This is an advanced course that introduces the basic partial differential equations of fluid mechanics, in particular the Navier-Stokes equations, and finite element methods to compute numerical approximate solutions. The theoretical parts of the course concern stability analysis of the numerical approximations, and a posteriori error estimation. Practical parts of the course focuses on computer implementation of finite element methods for the Navier-Stokes equations, including adaptive mesh refinement, and applications of the methods.
