The course gives an overview of scientific and industrial development trends within the areas of engineering design and industrial design. Scientific working methods, research and engineering ethics, and research methodologies are all addressed both on a general level and within the context of specific research domains. The focus is on how research may be used for the benefit of industry and society by promoting innovation.
