Hey peeps! Hope you are doing fine and excited that Winter is over while flowers bloom here in the Northern Hemisphere… well, it is taking a bit more than expected here in Stockholm as temperature is still in the range of single digits 😛 nonetheless, I managed to have a quick and warm getaway to… SPAIN! Yes, as you may know I’m 101 % Mexican with some Spanish relatives, so some of the members of my Mexican family (unfortunately not my mom #SadKiddo) decided to come to Spain and visit my Spanish relatives. Of course I took the advantage to spend less money (and have a lower environmental footprint) traveling to Spain instead of Mexico.
If you are as adventurous as I am and decide to move hundreds or thousands of km away from your country and family, it is expected that from time to time you’ll crave being there with them. Nonetheless, being able to enjoy such a different and beautiful country as Sweden is while learning its language, culture, and commitment towards sustainable development, it is what helps me sleep at night. Furthermore, this quick trip fuelled me and motivated me (more) into finish my thesis project on time! Also, it helped me realising that we are far away from sustainability; and no, I’m not a pessimist but I’m a realistic that saw how Spain falls behind in recycling or 100 % plant-based diet habits, for example. Trust me, we should not only enjoy nature and traveling, but we should all be committed into preserve our environment as it offers some of the most amazing experiences.
This was the first time I visited some incredible places such as the one in the image above, the Cíes Islands in Galicia, Spain. I explored and wandered around with my family and we enjoyed nature and took some nice pictures altogether. Furthermore, this quick trip was a breathe of fresh air for the time I’ve been investing not only in my part-time job, but in doing my thesis as well; as a preview of one of my following posts, you’ll get to know what I’m doing for thesis project. Moreover, one thing that I would like to highlight about Stockholm specifically, is how easy it is to travel not only to other Swedish cities, but outside the country. As I had to travel by plane based on the fact that Vigo (city where I was) is 2,500 km away from Stockholm, I was able to travel through one of the 3 airports that the city has, or are at least at a reasonable distance. Mobility is amazing in Sweden! Everything is connect by train, metro, or buss. Logistics let you travel by one of 3 available airports in the surroundings of Stockholm, for example, and so on #WayToGoSweden 😀
Well peeps, read you on my next post! Don’t forget (of course you have this top of mind) that results day is coming soon and we are excited to have you all here soon! Not only enjoying traveling around Europe, but being amazed the beauty of Stockholm and the incredible university KTH is!
