Nedräkningen har börjat

The countdown has begun. 3 days left for you to know your results if you decided to apply for a master’s program in Sweden! 2 years ago I was on your shoes and I had all of the emotions packed in one. I wanted to know if I had been accepted at KTH but at the same time I was nervous to know the outcome of my application. I remember KTH was my first option followed by Chalmers, and Uppsala; universities, which I presume to be the 3 most wanted in Sweden. For me it was a go big or go home movement! I wanted to study at the best university here!

So what will happen once you have received your results? I would say, relax. You have made it though all this time and no matter what the result may be, you should be proud of being confident enough in pursuing to study abroad. If you got selected for your first option, congratulations! Accept your offer and wait for the results for your scholarship in the case you have applied for it. Are you an EU student? The second part of the Hunger Games begin, accommodation. As a soon-to-be student coming from outside the EU, you are offered a place at a student dorm; nonetheless, those who applied with an EU citizenship must find accommodation by themselves. Long-story short, I rented a room for a month on an Airbnb just to be sure that I wouldn’t be scammed, once in Stockholm, I started looking for a long-term room. Advice, NETWORK! In a party I met a guy who knew a guy who knew a girl who knew someone who had a spare room; room, that has been mine for the past year an a half 🙂

In my own opinion, I would have to say that getting my results and finding a place to stay were the two most stressful things that I experienced before moving to Stockholm; nonetheless, I would go through them all over again if I had to :D! Furthermore, KTH has always aimed to deliver a smooth experience while studying at this amazing university. I arrived on a “pick-up” assigned date and KTH representatives were at the airport to take me directly to the campus. They offered me a SL metro card with a free ticket included, a SIM card, some water and even cinnamon rolls! Since that day, KTH has been helping me in every other obstacle I have had when it comes to admin-related or studies issues! But well, fear not! 3 more days and the waiting will be over! Don’t forget that Oluchi and me are here to support you with any other doubt you have! Lycka till! 🙂
