My name is Élise Brouillette and I will be a digital ambassador for KTH in the upcoming months! I am a french-canadian master student in the Sustainable Energy Engineering programme at KTH and will be spending the next two years here in Stockholm. Since you’ll be hearing from me a lot in the coming months, here’s a little bit about myself.
I am a pretty energetic person; I feel best when doing any kind of sport, but I enjoy cycling the most. I competed in road cycling for 10 years back home in Québec but now I just use it as a mode of transportation, so Stockholm is perfect for me! I also like hiking and sport-climbing, so if you are an outdoors enthusiast, stay tuned for some activity recommendations.
I also have more quiet moments, when I like to cook or read (L’écume des jours by Boris Vian is my all-time favorite). So be prepared to read about some easy-weeknight recipe, foodprep for exam time or some tips on how to reduce your waste in the kitchen.
I came to KTH both because of the programme I enrolled in and to live in Stockholm. Sweden is known to be very advanced in terms of policies and technologies to mitigate climate change and so it seemed like the perfect place to pursue my studies in energy engineering. KTH is also a top university in Europe and the world so I had no doubt I would learn a lot during my two years here.
Through this blog, I wish to share my experience as an international student, give you tips on school life, the application process and living abroad as well as share all of the cool things that Stockholm and Sweden have to offer.
Stay tuned for my first blog next week: the five things I learned from my first month living in Stockholm!
