Gunnar Tibert will on the 10th of November hold a webinar on the theme '' Structural scalability of large surface structures in space''. The lecture will be for 45 minutes, where you will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to Gunnar.

Abstract

Very large surface space structures have for a long time been proposed for solar sailing and space power. In recent years, large space shades have been proposed as a means to mitigate climate changes. This presentation will highlight in more detail the key structural requirements that makes the realization of very large surface structures so challenging. An example of the structural scalability of the traditional four-boom solar sail design will be shown.
