About us
The Department of Human Centered Technology (HCT) consists of the Division of Media Technology and Interaction Design.
HCT has its roots in computer- and behavioral science with staff who has world leading expertise in media technology and interaction design. There are about 60 people in the group today and around 50% of those are doctoral students. The department conducts education, research and the third mission within its topics. The area can briefly be described as innovative design, adjustment and improvements of existing systems and processes to facilitate computer and media use and media production. HCT works with techniques and methods in order to support human communication over distances in time and space.
The department manages: the Medieteknik Master of Science in Engineering Programme, two master programmes in Interactive Media Technology and Media Management, and a doctoral programme in Mediated Communication.
