Hero-m 2 Innovation is one of thirteen granted Vinnova Competence Centres. Our mission is to develop tools and competence for fast, intelligent, sustainable and cost efficient product development for Swedish industry.

Vision

The hierarchic approach (ICME) for design of materials, components and structures has become a widespread enabling technology used by companies to enhance competitiveness and increase the business value of customer offer. The Hero-m 2i approach is a game changer that contributes to the circular economy and a sustainable society.

Mission

The research program thus focuses on key issues associated with the science and technology of advanced structural and functional materials, from modelling to fabrication. Due to our unique position with the current Hero-m centre we aim high and emphasize further development of the models enabling integration of process-structure-property-performance models, and application as well as dissemination of the technology to industry and society. The mission of Hero-m 2i is to develop tools and competence for fast, intelligent, sustainable and cost efficient product development for Swedish industry. Continuous scientific breakthroughs are exploited to enable design of materials from atomistic scales to finished products.

A Vinnova Competence Centre

Hero-m 2 Innovation is one of the thirteen granted Vinnova Competence Centres in wich universities, colleges, research institutes, companies and public actors in close collaboration carry out world-class research in areas that are important for Sweden's competitiveness. The centre is a continuation of Hero-M - Hierarchical Engineering of Industrial Materials, a Vinnova-funded Vinn Excellence Centre.
