About me
Omid is a Research Scientist and Affiliated Faculty at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, as well as a Guest Professor at EQUA Simulation AB.
He is currently also one of the main developers of the IDA Tunnel software package, the world’s leading tool for designing ventilation systems in tunnels and metro networks.
He leads research in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with a focus on tunnel ventilation and inhaled drug delivery. With more than 20 years of academic and industry experience in fluid mechanics, he holds a Ph.D. from Shiraz University and has served as a visiting scholar at Clarkson University.
Omid has successfully supervised and mentored numerous M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, and has coached and led teams of CFD engineers on a wide range of projects with different companies. He has authored over one hundred publications in applied fluid mechanics, heat transfer, turbulence, and aerosol science.
His mission is to advance the knowledge and application of numerical simulation to solve real-world problems and to improve human health and well-being.
