About me
I'm a doctoral student at Energy Processes division as a part of the project More4LessCu. The project focuses on developing a net-zero emissions copper making process, having a cascading effect on energy transition. Also, this project is a collaboration among KTH, Swerim AB, Stegra AB, BITS Pilani, Aditya Birla Science and Technology Company, Spanish National Research Council and Universitatea Babes-Bolyai.
My research investigates the use of hydrogen in the copper making process prior to the smelting stage. By substituting traditional oxidative roasting with a hydrogen-based approach, this process eliminates sulfur dioxide emissions by producing Hydrogen sulfide, which can be utilized for an alternative fuel production. This strategy not only enhances the copper grade and reduces energy-intensive slag formation but also prevents magnetite-related losses.
