About me

Hej, I am Andressa Mazur, I am 25 years old and a Latin woman in STEM 🇧🇷. I joined the KTH Chemical Engineering PhD program in 2022, in the division of Resource Recovery, working under the supervision of Dr. Fred Penha.

I am the Head of the WOP Network and Communication Manager for the PhD chapter during the year 2024. I’ve been working to improve information sharing between the PhD students and the chapter through social media. A personal interest of mine is JLM (Equality, Diversity and Equal Opportunities), I want to contribute to improving equality and the work environment at KTH. I believe increasing information sharing is one of the main pillars of this work, it will empower students to control their PhDs projects and raise their voices in front of inequalities. We also require affirmative action and the construction of spaces where everyone can be heard and celebrated!

I pursued my bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at the Technological Federal University of Parana - UTFPR in Brazil, and my master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the Bragança Polytechnic Institute in Portugal. My master's thesis is entitled "Characterization and Primary Treatment of the Effluent of Olive Pomace Oil Extractor Industry".

My research interests include novel crystallization techniques and approaches, microfluidics systems, recovery of critical raw materials, and wastewater/effluent treatment.

Microfluidic systems for LIB recovery

I'm part of the organization committee for BIWIC 2023 which will be hosted by KTH, in-person, from August 30th to September 1st, 2023

I'm acting as the Communication manager for the PhD Chapter board from July to December 2023!

Feel free to contact me by e-mail at andmaz@kth.se
