Annika Szabo Portela

Annika Szabo Portela is the Executive Director of Digital Futures with the following responsibilities:

• Maintain and further develop the collaboration with Digital Futures' partners and networks internally and externally within academia, business and the public sector.

• Coordinate and lead Digital Futures' administrative team and coordinate the work in committees, working groups and steering groups, and be responsible for the administration of these.

• Strategic planning, annual business planning, budget work, processes and follow-up, as well as development of working methods and structure.

• Contribute to the management and development of the research program and the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops and other recurring activities.

Annika has over 20 years of international experience in higher education, research and innovation management. She holds a PhD in medical science from Karolinska Institutet, has been a postdoc at KTH, and has a background as a clinician, researcher and leader in cross-sectoral collaborations in Europe.
