About me
David A. Liñán's research focuses on the development of algorithms and models for Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP), Generalized Disjunctive Programming (GDP), and data-driven optimization. His work addresses challenges in design, control, scheduling, and integrated decision-making applications.
David has also contributed to industrial-academic collaborations aimed at promoting sustainability. Notably, he worked on designing a process for food waste reutilization in the baking industry and, more recently, has been developing simulation-based optimization tools to minimize the environmental impact of iron production. This ongoing collaboration between KTH Royal Institute of Technology and LKAB is titled "Simulator-Embedded Nonlinear Programming for Optimized Process Design and Decision Support."
