Biological systems can process information efficiently, from sensing to learning and perception. However, biological brains work very differently from conventional intelligent systems. The fundamental building blocks of information processing differ, which makes conventional computing approaches less suited to how biology operates. As a member of the Neurocomputing Systems Lab, my research focuses on understanding how we can use biologically inspired vision sensing to build efficient perception algorithms and develop a better understanding of how neural networks can be trained in this new domain of information.
