About me
Lab Coordinator and Research Engineer in the Lighting Design Division, with an educational background in Sustainable Architecture and Architectural Lighting Design, and over 13 years of experience in lighting design, research, and teaching both in academia and practice. My work focuses on advancing innovative research and teaching, fostering a collaborative, inspiring, and enriching learning environment for students. An integral part of my role is the continuous development and upgrading of the Lighting Design Lab to support excellence in education and research. From 2020 to 2022, I was responsible for developing the academic program and curriculum for a Master's degree in Architecture and Light at Pars University in Iran.
Since 2022, in addition to research and education at KTH, I've been invited as a guest lecturer at Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design) and at other institutions.
Research projects I have been involved in:
- LENSES– Light and optical Engineering design for Education and research. We are working on a module on lenses and photometry development at KTH to enable design, simulation, and prototyping of optical systems.
- PLEXE (Platform for Lighting Effects Experimentation Environments): This project identifies, designs, implements, and validates infrastructural components to enhance living spaces and their supporting systems.
- Safety and Lighting in Metro Stations: In collaboration with SL and ABE-Urban and Regional Studies, this project aims to improve safety in metro stations through effective lighting design.
- NorDark: Focused on unconventional methods to inform sustainable design, this project mediates the needs of people and nature in Nordic after-dark environments (supported by NordForsk/Formas).
- LiSE (Learning-environment testbed for evaluating lighting benefits beyond retrofits): Supported by Energimyndigheten/Bertil och Britt Svenssons Stiftelse, this project evaluates the extended benefits of lighting in educational settings.
