About me

PhD student at the Department of Industrial Biotechnology.

Eutrophication is a major environmental problem for large parts of the Baltic Sea. The amount of nutrients and the deposition of organic matter in the Baltic Sea have increased considerably since the beginning of the 20th century. Phosphorus has a long residence time within the Baltic Sea and its coastal waters that delays alleviation of eutrophication symptoms, and the only loss is to sediment deposition. Therefore, it is urgent to find solutions for the remediation of the Baltic Sea eutrophication.

My current research project aims to develop an innovative bioengineering method of phosphorus release and recovery from deep sea water and sediment.
