Regina Filemon Irunde

I am a doctoral student under SEED department. My research area is "The use of available local materials for arsenic (As) removal from drinking water sources around Gold mining area in Tanzania". The research is a part of a project (funded by Sida) dealing with Arsenic and Fluoride contamination in Tanzania which is a collaboration between KTH and UDSM-Tanzania. Although the research is on progress, we have promising results that local material such as soils, rocks, agricultural byproducts in the form of activated carbon, works well on arsenic and fluoride removal from water.
