Johanna Gavefalk is a structured and results-oriented leader with extensive and broad experience in communication, marketing, and sales across academia, industry, and the non-profit sector – both nationally and internationally. With a strong drive to contribute to societal development and make a real difference, she has worked in both multinational corporations and small, agile organizations. Her profile is characterized by strategic thinking, operational execution, and leadership that promotes innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.

Since 2020, Johanna has been the Head of Communications at the research centre Digital Futures at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where she is responsible for the entire communications operation – including content production, digital channels, PR, brand development, and project management of major events such as the international conference Digitalize in Stockholm. She collaborates closely with academic and industrial partners such as KTH, Stockholm University, RISE, AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Saab, Scania, Skanska, Xylem, Region Stockholm, and the City of Stockholm.

Johanna’s previous experience includes leadership roles such as Head of Marketing and Communications at Svensk Fastighetsförmedling, where she developed the brand and led major digital initiatives, as well as Director of Marketing & Communications at EIT Digital Europe, where she led pan-European communication efforts and international teams. She has also held several positions at Electrolux and Ericsson, where she was responsible for global marketing strategies and sales optimization. In addition, she has served as Interim Secretary General of the youth organization YFU Sweden.

She holds a Master of Science in Business and Economics from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg and has pursued further education in digital marketing, board governance, and coaching leadership. With strong digital expertise in SEO, SEM, marketing automation, and web publishing, she combines business acumen with a socially engaged perspective.

Johanna has held several voluntary board positions and is fluent in Swedish and English, with good knowledge of French and German. She is a well-regarded leader with a communicative drive, who strengthens organizations’ visibility, impact, and value creation through strategic engagement and commitment.
