I am a PhD student researching Socially Embodied Artificial Intelligence. My goal is to make social robots that are enjoyable companions in social settings such as for example a collaborative tabletop game. Specifically I'm interested in how to make the robots take social decisions, like when to talk to someone, what to say, how to say it and when to tell a joke. I do this by collecting data on how humans behave and use AI models to create multimodal robot behavior.
I am open to taking on students that want to do projects in social robotics and mixed reality.
