About me
Dr. Philip Kappen is associate professor of tech-based entrepreneurship at the Department of Industrial Economics and Management, KTH Royal Institute of Technology. In 2023, he was appointed professor of international business at Uppsala University, and prior to this position, he was associate professor of strategy and international management at Copenhagen Business School. Dr. Kappen has been a visiting scholar at Columbia University, Rutgers University, and Temple University.
His research spans the strategy, entrepreneurship, and international business domains and include topics like management of innovation, internationalization processes, green intrapreneurship and resource allocation strategy in diversified firms. He has published in top-ranked journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Research Policy, Long Range Planning and Journal of World Business.
He is a member of the European International Business Association, the Academy of International Business, and the Academy of Management.
