About me

As a PhD student in the joint KI-KTH program, my research focuses on assessing the biomechanical properties of the pelvic floor muscles. During childbirth, these muscles undergo very large deformations, which can lead to pelvic floor injuries and long-term complications. To better understand these injuries, I study the stiffness and mechanical behaviour of the pelvic floor muscles using elastography techniques, including Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) and Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE). By analyzing how mechanical waves propagate through the tissue, my work characterizes muscle properties, anisotropy, and wave propagation patterns.
