Manzoor Hussain

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Mechatronics Division and the TECoSA Centre at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, working under the supervision ofProf. Lei Feng and in collaboration withProf. Martin Törngren. My research at KTH focuses onAI safety and security for intelligent autonomous systems, with an emphasis oncollaborative perception to enhance the detection of occluded and beyond-sensor-range objects for improved vehicle safety.

I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science atChungbuk National University, Republic of Korea, where I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Software Intelligence Engineering Laboratory. My doctoral research, supervised byProf. Jang-Eui Hong, centered on developingrobust and secure AI models for safety-critical cyber-physical systems, culminating in a thesis titled“A Robust Unified Transformer for Security Resilience in Intelligent Systems.” I also earned my B.S. in Software Engineering from the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan.

My research interests spanAI safety and security, robust AI, adversarial attacks and defenses, autonomous driving systems, cyber-physical system safety, and machine/deep learning. Since 2020, I have contributed to multipleNational Research Foundation (NRF) projects on safety assurance for autonomous driving. I also bring over three years of industry experience in software development and continue to serve as a reviewer for leading journals from IEEE, Springer Nature, Wiley, Elsevier, and MDPI.

Prior to joining KTH, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Chungbuk National University, focusing onrobust AI modeling, safety analysis tools, and simulation-based evaluation of autonomous driving systems.

At KTH, my research contributes to the development ofnext-generation, safety-aware autonomous systems, integrating collaborative perception with robust AI to support trustworthy and resilient intelligent vehicles.
