Nikolaos Kolomvakis

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Communication Systems at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden working with prof. Emil Björnson. From 2017 to 2023, I held the positions of a Systems Engineer and Senior Researcher at Ericsson AB in Stockholm, Sweden.

Before joining Ericsson, I obtained the Ph.D. degree in wireless communications from the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden under the supervision of prof. Mats Viberg and the co-supervision of prof. Thomas Eriksson and prof. Michail Matthaiou. I received the M.Sc. degree in information technology & electrical engineering from the ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2012.

My research is in the area of wireless communications, electromagnetic information theory and signal processing, and I mainly focus on developing novel theory and designing hardware-aware algorithms for distributed massive MIMO, holographic MIMO and large intelligent surfaces.
