About me
Diletta Olliaro is a PostDoctoral Fellow at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, where she works in the TECoSA research center with Professor György Dán.
Her research focuses on queueing theory, product-form solution models, and, more broadly, on stochastic modeling of networks and telecommunication systems. Her work aims to evaluate and enhance performance and reliability in modern computer systems. In recent years, she focused particularly on the Multiserver Job Queueing Model, a novel abstraction whose investigation allows to overcome challenges of multi-resource job queues, such as those found in modern data centers.
Diletta earned her Bachelor's Degree in 2018 and her Master's Degree (cum laude) in 2021, both from Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
In 2025, Diletta was awarded a PhD in Computer Science (cum laude) from Ca' Foscari University of Venice with a thesis titled “Models for Throughput Maximisation in Distributed Systems”.
During her doctoral studies, she had the opportunity to work as a visiting PhD student at several renowned international institutions, including IMDEA Networks Institute in Madrid (Spain), the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Imperial College London (United Kingdom).
She served as Local Co-Chair for the 16th Joint ACM SIGMETRICS / IFIP Performance Conference and as a Program Committee member for several conferences (CCGrid 2025, QEST+FORMATS 2025 (Artifact Evaluation Committee), EPEW 2025, and WONS 2026). She is the Proceedings Co-Chair for ICPE 2026.
Together with her co-authors, she received the Best Paper Award at the 36th International Teletraffic Congress (2025), and the Best Abstract Award at the PhD Workshop of the same conference.
