Ozan Can Ozaner

Ozan Can Ozaner is a postdoctoral researcher in Production Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, working in the field of advanced manufacturing with a focus on additive and subtractive manufacturing. His research interests include additive manufacturing, hybrid manufacturing, process optimisation, machining, and the structural and surface integrity of metallic components.

Before joining KTH in 2026, he completed his PhD at KU Leuven (Belgium), where his research focused on the structural and surface integrity of components produced by Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). His doctoral work covered nickel- and iron-based alloys in both single-material and bimetallic configurations, with particular emphasis on microstructure, fatigue performance, machinability, and process-induced thermal effects.

Prior to his academic career, he worked for more than five years in the aerospace industry at TEI, gaining experience in advanced manufacturing and machining processes for aero-engine components. His research aims to bridge manufacturing science with industrial applications and contribute to the development of robust and efficient manufacturing technologies.
