About me
I have master degrees in civil engineering and business administration (2001) from Luleå University of Technology, where I became a PhD in 2007, an associate professor in 2010 and a professor in construction management in 2014. Since 1 December 2025, I am professor in construction procurement and innovation at KTH. My research focuses on two main themes: Procurement and governance of construction projects as well as Innovation and learning in construction projects and project-based organizations. I find the research most interesting and rewarding where these two themes meet and overlap. In recent years, I have increasingly focused on studying how public procurement can promote innovation to drive sustainable transition. I am convinced that large public clients must take lead and use their entire purchasing volume to drive sustainable development.
I have been the program manager for a research program that the national research group ProcSIBE (Procurement for Sustainable Innovation in the Built Environment) has together with the Swedish Transport Administration since 2016. I am a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) and the Swedish Project Academy (SPAK).
