About me

Let me introduce myself first. My name is Ronald Mauricio Lara Prado, I was born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia. I performed my bachelor studies at Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) in La Paz. During my bachelor studies, I got interested in inorganic chemistry, petrochemical processes, and material science. So, I decided to study catalytic reactions over zeolites. My bachelor thesis was based on the modification of ZSM-5 zeolites with metallic cobalt particles to obtain di-methyl ether from methanol.

About my master's thesis, I also performed my Master's studies at UMSA from 2018 to 2022. As a way to contribute to the zeolite application and the application of natural resources, I studied Bolivian diatomaceous earth as a zeolite precursor and the effect of applying different temperatures as a pre-synthesis treatment.

Currently, I´m a Ph.D. student at KTH working in the process technology division. My research is focused on the thermochemical transformation of biomass through pyrolysis to obtain added-value products such as biochar, bio-oils, and biogases.

In my free time, I enjoy practicing Taekwondo, playing the piano, and taking landscape pictures.
